Redpath Museum has kept its wooden display cases in line since 1882, on the McGill campus, on rue Sherbrooke Ouest.
Peter Redpath, a sugar refiner, paid for the building to house William Dawson's collections: it is the oldest structure in Canada built to serve as a museum, a Greek Revival temple whose interior survives almost untouched.
