A lifelong project of Bishop **Ignace Bourget**, the second Bishop of Montreal, the Marie-Reine-du-Monde Cathedral-Basilica is the **world's only replica of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome**. It was deliberately built in the heart of the English-speaking, Protestant Golden Square Mile to assert a bold Catholic presence.
