Facing Place d'Armes, two grey stone towers, La Persévérance and La Tempérance, frame the Gothic Revival front that architect James O'Donnell delivered between 1824 and 1829 for the Sulpicians.
Inside, the expectation collapses. Victor Bourgeau laid out deep blue sown with gold stars, painted vaults, clustered columns and carved woodwork.
