The 4th district borders the Naschmarkt, Vienna’s most famous market, and Karlsplatz with St. Charles’s Church. Its residential streets hide galleries, shops and small restaurants.
The Naschmarkt runs along the course of the former Wien River, covered over at the end of the 19th century. St. Charles’s Church, completed in 1737, was built after a plague epidemic.
