Copenhagen’s medieval centre: the Nyhavn canal with its colourful façades, the Strøget pedestrian street, the Round Tower, the Amalienborg and Christiansborg palaces, and squares where everyone sits outside at the first ray of sun.
The Nyhavn canal was dug in the 1670s to link the harbour to the city. The Round Tower, built by Christian IV and completed in 1642, served as an astronomical observatory.
