Miami’s financial district, Brickell is lined with glass towers, restaurants, rooftop bars and walks along Biscayne Bay. The free Metromover links it to downtown and the museums of Maurice A. Ferré Park.
The district is named after William and Mary Brickell, who settled at the mouth of the Miami River in the 19th century. A street of villas in the early 20th century, Brickell has filled with skyscrapers since the 2000s. At the river mouth, the Miami Circle bears witness to a Tequesta presence nearly 2,000 years old.
