In the north of the city, Beitou is the hot springs district: public baths, spa hotels, a steaming valley and a warm stream. Come to unwind, less than an hour from the centre by metro.
The Japanese developed Beitou’s springs in the late 19th century and built a large public bathhouse there in 1913, now the Hot Spring Museum. The area has kept its inns, baths and spa-town atmosphere.
