Opened in February 1939 by **Joe Ryan**, a Philadelphia millionaire who fell for the mountain, Tremblant became the benchmark resort of eastern North America: **645 metres** of vertical drop, four faces and roughly a hundred trails dropping toward a pedestrian village of coloured roofs.
