Les Galeries d'Anjou
Anjou, Montréal$$
About
On August 8, 1968, on the former Ville d'Anjou golf course, an 800,000-square-foot "retail supercomplex" opened at a cost of $16 million — at birth, the second-largest shopping centre in the country after Yorkdale. The original anchors — Simpsons, Eaton, Steinberg, Dominion — are all gone; 160 stores on a single level now fill 1.
